Atlanta Mayor Bans E-Scotters After 9PM

Electric scooter at city

After multiple people have been killed riding e-scooters at night, Atlanta's mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms has banned the use of these scooters and bikes at night.

The curfew, which was announced on Thursday, will ban the e-scooters and e-bikes from 9PM to 4AM.

This announcement came after a fourth scooter related fatality in the Atlanta area in the past few weeks.

According to a statement released by Mayor Buttoms:

This nighttime ban, while we continue to develop further long-term measures, will ensure the safest street conditions for scooter riders, motorists, cyclists, those in wheelchairs and pedestrians

The city planner's office has requested that the e-scooter vendors disable the vehicles during the hours that they are banned.
